Obituary of Christina Swift
Christina Alice Swift of Fredericton, NB, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 to be reunited with her husband, Donald Swift, who passed away April 13, 2008. She was born October 18, 1925 in Birmingham, England, the daughter of late Arthur and Betsy (Clooley) Jackson. She was a war bride married on January 16, 1946 in the Church of England, devoted wife of 62 years, mother to all she met (some now worldwide), wise, humble, serving and always had a cup of tea and fresh baking ready when anyone visited.
She is survived by daughter, Anne (Bill) Maxon; sons, Edwin (Katherine) Swift and Doug Swift; grandchildren, Chris (Tammy), David, and Eddie (Tabatha Godin) Maxon, Shanda, Rogan and Ainsley Swift; great-granddaughter, Kara, all of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by sisters, Betty and Peggy and brother, Edwin all of England.
Resting at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, where visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10 am with Rev. Dr. Brad Little officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
