Obituary of Merna Foster Blanchette

The family of Merna would like to announce that she has begun another segment in her journey of life on Monday, February 25, 2013, she left us to join many of her family and friends (and Faron Young), with her son Mario, Melanie and friend, Dianne by her side. Merna was a strong believer in Al-Anon drawing strength and giving it back to many others. She enjoyed many years as a hairdresser but once her health would no longer allow it, she took upon herself to teach children and adults English while living in Edmundston. Family was very important to her and there was nothing she enjoyed more then gathering with family and friends. She leaves us to join her parents, Katherine and Arthur Foster; her sister, Darlene and her brother, Clinton. She is survived by her brother, Bob (Shirley); sister-in-law, Pauline; son, Mario (Melanie) and four grandsons, Anthony, Chad, Ethan, Evan; many cousins and friends. Viewing is to be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 2-5 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Loren Gorman officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Hartland, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice.
