Obituary of Frederick Dorcas

The family wishes to announce the passing of Frederick Kenneth Dorcas “Freddy” on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born on February 23, 1935 in Williamsburg, NB, where he lived his entire life, he was the son of Ada (MacLean) Dorcas and the late Malcolm Dorcas. In his early years, Freddy was a woodsworker and construction worker, in his later years he was an owner and operator of logging trucks. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed his ATV and spent many hours roaming the woods and fields of Williamsburg. Most recently he enjoyed talking on the phone with neighbours and friends. In addition to his mother, Ada Dorcas of Nashwaak Villa, Freddy is survived by his wife, Marie Dorcas; sons, Ronald Dorcas (Janet) of Nashwaak Village, NB and Irvine Dorcas of Whitecourt, AB; daughters, Connie Fullarton (Kim) and Dixie Wilson all of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren, Sonya DesRoches, Amy Dorcas, James Dorcas, Becky Fullarton, Julie Carrier, Adam Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Chelsea Dorcas and Grant Dorcas; 12 great grandchildren. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his daughter, Vickie Marie Dorcas and brother, Ernest Dorcas. At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will take place at Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date.
