Obituary of Eugene Plant

The passing of Eugene “Gene” Edward Plant of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marie (Guitard) Plant occurred on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 10, 1940 in Tilley, NB, he was the son of the late Abraham and Cecilia (Grossett) Plant. Gene was an equipment operator at Hogans. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Cecilia Letourneau (Mike) of Brampton, ON; sons, Frank (Tara) of Alton, ON, Rick (Dedra) of Guelph, ON, Harold (April) of Fredericton, NB and Edward (Dale) of Drayton Valley, AB; fourteen grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Laura of Edmonston, NB and Geraldine (Bill) of Orgeon, USA; brother, Phillip (Cathy) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Norma and Idella; brothers, Harold William, Berley, Perley and Frank Plant. Although there will be no visitation by request; a Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor Darrell Powers officiating. Interment will take in the Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date.
