Obituary of Ronald Chisholm

Ronald G. Chisholm of 25 Morgan Lake Road , Noonan , NB in his 78th year, died at home on Thursday, January 31, 2013. Born in Saint John , NB in 1935, he was the son of the late Frank and Muriel (Hillier) Chisholm. He is survived by his wife, Winifred (Tucker); daughters, Christine of Grand Bay, NB, Patti of Saint John, NB and Heather of Fredericton, NB; son, Stephen Chisholm of Grand Bay, NB; grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Amber, Liam, Alexander, Matthew, Erin, Anna, Claire, Owen and Celia; great grandson, Nicholas Patterson; brothers, twin brother, Donald of Kingston, ON, J. Blair of Nauwigewauk, NB, L. Frank of Maple Ridge, BC and sister, Carole (Allison) of Sussex, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sharon (Dalling) and brother, William “Bill” Chisholm. He graduated from Simonds Regional High School and worked at NB Tel for 18 years and then left to become the Executive Director of the St. John Ambulance – NB Council, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Militia in Saint John and Moncton for over twenty years, retiring with the rank of Major from 31 (Saint John) Service Battalion. He served in Scouts Canada in many different capacities for over thirty years. He was a Past Master of Hiram Lodge #6, AF&AM, Past Preceptor of Fredericton Preceptory, Knights Templar and a member of the Luxor Shriners. Former President of the Chalmers Hospital Auxillary, and Secretary for the New Brunswick Association of Healthcare Auxillaries. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Masonic Service will take place at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:45 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home for a Legion Tribute Service on Sunday at 6:45 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church, 40 Main Street , Fredericton , NB on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating and Rev. J. D. Kennedy assisting. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. John Ambulance, Shriners Children’s Hospital, Chalmers Hospital Auxiliary or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
