Obituary of Peter Orchard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Daniel Orchard of Islandview, NB, which occurred on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 4, 1974 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Neil and Linda Orchard of Waterborough, NB. Peter dedicated most of his life to emergency response as a volunteer with the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department and as a Paramedic with Ambulance New Brunswick. Peter had a strong love of his community and the extended family of fire fighters and paramedics that he had the honour of serving beside. Peter enjoyed spending time at Grand Lake with his wife, two daughters and the rest of the family and will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and family man. In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Clarke) and his two daughters, Alyssa and Brooke of Islandview, NB; sister, Lori Dekleva of Fredericton, NB; brother, James Orchard (Nicolle Dixon) of Shediac Bridge, NB; grandmother, Kathleen Orchard of Coles Island, NB; biological grandmother, Marie Dewar of Deer Island, NB; mother and father-in-law Mary and Gary Clarke; brother-in-law, Kris Clarke (Amanda) all of Fredericton, NB; three nieces, Abigail and Kate Dekleva, Natasha Clark and one nephew, Alex Clarke; several close aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Ralph Orchard and grandmother, Muriel Dykeman. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb officiating. Interment will take place in St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Youngs Cove, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
