Obituary of Barbara Quintal

The passing of Barbara “Barb” Quintal of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Andre Quintal (November 15, 1929 – November 21, 1988 CWO Canadian Air Force 1950-1975), occurred on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Shannex Parkland – Thomas Hall. Born on October 19, 1931 in Holdfast, SK, she was the daughter of the late Johanna and Rose (Klien) Karassmann, she was one of their twelve children. Barbara was the head waitress for 22 years in the Officers Mess at Canadian Forces Base - St. Hubert, Montreal, QC. She moved to Fredericton in 1997, where she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, she also delivered the Daily Gleaner and did house cleaning. Barbara is survived by her only son, Dan Quintal (Veronique Dube); grandchildren, Cory and Jessica Quintal both of Fredericton, NB, Daniel, Ryan and Justin Quintal all of London, ON; two siblings, Michael Krassman of Calgary, AB and Wilfred Krassman of Edmonton, AB. Besides her husband and parents, Barbara was predeceased by ten siblings. Although there will be no visitation or service by request; a private family gathering will take place.
