Obituary of Betty Rogers

The passing of Betty Alice Louise Rogers of Fredericton, NB, wife of David Rogers occurred on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on November 18, 1935 in Stanley, NB, she was the daughter of the late Kirby and Gladys (Kennan) Nowlan. She was a member the Marysville United Church and the Marysville Legion Branch #15. Betty enjoyed watching curling, was an avid Blue Jays fan, liked to play shuffle board and darts. She will be remembered as one who was a mother to many and someone who loved to entertain and cook for her family and many friends, you always felt welcome when in her home. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Betty is survived by her three sons, Reg of Calgary, AB, Rick (Lauren) of Fredericton, NB and Martin (Bonnie) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Julie of Yellowknife, Ryan and David both of Calgary, AB, Kyle and Ben of Fredericton, NB and Kristy of Moncton, NB; two great grandchildren, Jayden and Zoey; sister, Bernadette Stafford of Marysville, NB; brothers, Ronnie Nowlan of Fredericton, NB and Tommy Nowlan of Kingsley, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Bertie Stafford; brothers, Pat, Carl, Willie, Johnny and Everett. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor Todd Robinson officiating. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
