Obituary of Merlyn Billings

The passing of Merlyn Garfield Billings of Fredericton, NB, husband of Georgina Greene Billings occurred on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 24, 1940 in Caverhill, NB, he was the son of the late Basil and Georgina (Brewer) Billings. Merlyn worked as a truck driver for various companies over the years. In addition to his wife, Merlyn is survived by his sons, Kirk Billings of Charters Settlement, NB and Scott Billings of Taymouth, NB; special grandchildren, Dylan, Savannah and Christopher; sisters, Myrna Allen (Jim) of Durham Bridge, NB, Cathy Moholitny (Gary) of Edmonton, AB and Linda Latouche (Richard) of Queenstown, NB; aunt, Phyllis Brewer; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Phil Billings. By his request, there will be no funeral service; a visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 7-9 pm. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Zealand, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
