Obituary of Reba Barton
The passing of Reba Catherine Barton of Fredericton, NB, wife of Albert Barton occurred on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at home. Born on October 9, 1941 in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Henderson) Ross. She graduated from Truro Teachers College in 1960, and then taught Home Economics in Springhill, NS. Reba was a member of the Canadian and American Red Cross for many years, where she served in many capacities as well as fitness instructor.
In addition to her husband, Reba is survived by her children, Cathy Fox (Collin) of Halifax, NS, John Douglas Fisher (Marie) of Beechwood, NB, Stacie Fisher (Pablo Rodriguez) of Toronto, ON, Lacie Lyons of Fredericton, NB and Laura-Maia Wright (Michael) of Charters Settlement, NB; step children, Eric Barton of Alberta, Robin Randall (Brian) of Fredericton, NB and Holly Tucker (David) of Oak Haven, NB; sixteen grandchildren; sister, Gale Lasher of Kingston, ON and Beverly Trites of Fredericton, NB; brother, Douglas Ross (Jillian) of Salmon Arm, BC; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step daughter, Tracy Barton.
A Memorial Reception will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 7 pm. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
