Obituary of Benjamin Astle

Astle, Benjamin Edward The passing of Benjamin “Ben” Edward Astle, husband of Joyce (Norrad) Astle, occurred Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 13, 1949 in McGivney, NB, he was the son of the late H. Mason and Pamela (Arbeau) Astle. Ben worked as a supervisor for Forest Protection Ltd. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #51 F&AM and the Boiestown United Church Choir. Ben enjoyed hockey, the outdoors and music. In addition to his wife, Ben is survived by his children, Lydia Jill Downey (Mike) of Fredericton, NB, Nolan Astle (Jessica) of Fredericton, NB and Jessie MacIntosh (Cameron) of Upper Kingsclear, NB; grandchildren, Deidre, Bailey, William, Aidan and Mason; sisters, Nettie Thomas of Fredericton, NB, Peggy Chapman (Doug) of Fredericton, NB and Sharon Manuel (Bill) of Trenton, ON; brothers Leonard Astle (Germaine) of Bathurst, NB, Phillip Astle of Calgary, AB, David Astle of Calgary, AB and André Astle (Tracy) of Pembrook, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ben was predeceased by his sister, Norma Rutherford and nephew, Barry Chessie. Although there will be no visitation, a Graveside Service will be held at the Boiestown United Church Cemetery, at a later date.
