Obituary of John Cowie

The passing of John Thomas Cowie of New Bandon, NB, husband of Muriel (Reid) Cowie occurred on Tuesday, December, 18, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on December 22, 1921 in Blissfield, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mildred (Schofield) Cowie. John was a retired truck driver with Russell & Swim. He was an adherant to the St. Augustines United Church, New Bandon, NB. In addition to John’s wife, Muriel, he is survived by his daughter, Corinne Cowie of New Bandon, NB; brother, Myles (Francine) Cowie of Fredericton, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers, James, Robert and Walter Cowie. At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. Interment will take place at St. Augustines United Church Cemetery, New Bandon, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Thomas United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
