so sad to hear of mr gilby's passing. he lived his life the way he chose -- at home, surrounded by all the things he loved. i remember dressing up with tammy (fanjoy) thebeau one halloween and we visited harry and wanted him to guess who we were. he didn't seemed too concerned about who we were, he just wanted the company. he put on a pot of tea and we had a great visit. what a nice man. my thoughts are with the family.

I will miss seeing Mr. Gilbey, (HP) out working on his tractor, fixing damage to the trail that I often traveled. I know he gave me permission to ride my horses on his trail but I never thought he approved of it. He tried to keep motorized vehicles out, there was no question about that. Then after giving it a lot of thought.....who was he fixing the trail for if not me.....

My brother Bruce and I stopped in and visited your Dad in July 2011.It was so nice to talk with him. I had a nice chat with him this year at my Aunt Juanita's funeral. At that time I introduced him to several of my cousins. They were thrilled to meet him as they had heard his name mentioned for years. My youngest brother James has a desk that Harry made in the early 60s.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Ruth

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Gilbey family on the loss of their dad and grandfather, Harry. Harry was a first cousin to my mother, Phylllis (Foster) Rodgers. I have fond memories of reunions Harry and Dorothy hosted for cousins and their famiies and also of when Gail and I took my parents, Phyllis and Leonard Rodgers, to Fall River, Mass. to attend James Chown's wedding. We enjoyed our time spent with the Gilbey's and Chown's at that time. We have enjoyed time spent with Harry over the years since. Harry was well known and respected by all who were fortunate to have known him.

Sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Gilbey family on the loss of Harry. Harry was a very proud Canadian, a great New Brunswicker and a true lover of the Keswick Ridge and the surrounding areas. He loved to be with the people.
He will be remembered as a good and decent man…..a man of integrity and principle. He was fair-minded; you would not find a more gentleman like pe...rson. He had a lot of passion for helping others.
I have known Harry for almost 40 years. He was very community-minded, family-orientated, a good keen man, with a great interest in Politics. Harry once told me “that he saw politics as a good way to make a difference in the lives of communities and of individuals.”
He was one of those guys who you could talk to who was always willing to share his experiences and vast knowledge. He would not always counsel you so much but would challenge you to think about and personally reflect on yourself as the decision maker, anyone else potentially involved, and the bigger picture – and more importantly the impact of your actions on those who could be affected in any way. To this many of us are thankful and will be forever grateful.
RIP and thanks Harry for all your earthly deeds!
