Obituary of Bertha Clark

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bertha Jean Clark (Pond) of Marysville, on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Marysville, NB, February 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle (Tucker) Pond, and wife of the late Walter David Clark. Bertha's life revolved around her family and friends, she was known as 'Mom', 'Nanny', and 'G.G.' to many. In her youth, Bertha was an employee of the Marysville cotton mill. As a mother, she was an incredible homemaker and fabulous cook. Bertha and Walter, along with life long friends, were avid motorcyclists for over 55 years, riding throughout the Eastern seaboard. Bertha lived for her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Catherine Clark of Fredericton and Kelly Clark (Jason Otis) of Halifax; three sons, David Clark (Barbara Ramsay) of Fredericton, Kevin Clark (Roxanne) of Fredericton, and Paul Clark (Bev) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Teri, Jessica, Ryan, Darcy, Teri (Blakely), Staci, and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Kye, Emma, Owen, Hayden, Hunter, and Rylee; brother, Charles 'Buddy' Pond Jr. (Wilda); sisters, Betty Harding (Cecil), and Barbara Roach (Jerry). In addition to her parents and husband, Bertha was predeceased by brother, John 'Jack' Pond (Muriel), and sister, June Pond. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Marysville United Church, 351 Canada Street on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers for the service are Paul Horncastle, Reg Bailey, Bob Tweedie, Ken Savage, Gary Olsen, and Al Whitney. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, Fredericton Food Bank, Fredericton SPCA, or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
