Obituary of Marguerite Scrimgeour

The passing of Marguerite (Bailey) Scrimgeour of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Leith Scrimgeour occurred on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at York Care Centre. Born on June 11, 1921 in Devon, NB she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Glennie (Sansom) Bailey. Marguerite was affiliated with Nashwaaksis United Church, was a life member of the UCW and a past member of the Women’s Institute. Marguerite is survived by her son, David Scrimgeour of Fredericton, NB; step son, Ian (Joyce) Scrimgeour of Fredericton, NB; step grandchildren, Doris Anne, Scott (Micheline) and Lisa (John); step great-grandchildren, Amanda (Max), Nicole and Marcus. Besides her husband and parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her brother, Harold Bailey. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to York Care Center or a charity of the donor’s choice.
