Obituary of Mavis Ryan

The passing of Mavis Jeanette Ryan of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Ralph Ryan occurred on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 8, 1932 in Nackawic, NB, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Nina (Stairs) McGuire. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mavis enjoyed knitting, cooking and especially spending time with her family. Mavis is survived by her daughters, Tanya Ryan-Johnson (Steve) of Calgary, AB and Debrah Christenson (Brian) of Fredericton, NB; sons, James Ryan (Jeanette) of St. Andrews, NB and Peter Ryan of Fredericton, NB; six grandchildren, Pamela Callan (James), Peggy Payne (Aaron), Melissa Ryan, Victoria Ryan, Elizabeth Ryan and Ryan Johnson; five great grandchildren, Madeleine Callan, James Callan, Micah Payne, Caleb Payne and Jude Payne; sister, Jean Hayden (James) of Fredericton, NB; brother, Linwood McGuire of Nackawic, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Ronald Ryan. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in Newcastle Centre Cemetery, Minto, NB at a later date.
