Obituary of Greta Haines

The passing of Greta Pearl Haines of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Vincent W. Haines of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the York Care Centre. Born on October 30, 1930 in Zealand, NB, she was the daughter of the late Watson and Lillian Brewer. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Greta was a foster parent. Greta is survived by her daughter, Angela Murray (Peter) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Melbourne Haines (Judy) of Fredericton, NB, Raymond Haines (Nila) of Fredericton, NB and Richard Haines of Maugerville, NB; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Porter of Springfield, NB and Jane Porter of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Geraldine, Barbara, Madeline, Brenda and Nancy; granddaughter, Sarah Murray; sisters, Ruth Hanson, Inez Desrosier, Etta Foster and Arline Brewer; two infant brothers and brothers, Ernest, Hayward, Hanford, Herbert and Raymond. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Mowry officiating and Pastor Jason McVicar assisting. Interment will take place in Dorn Ridge Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army. Personal condolences may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
