Obituary of J. Claude Roy
The passing of Joseph Claude Roy of Fredericton, NB, husband of Penny Higgs occurred on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the York Care Centre, Fredericton. Born on May 28, 1944 in Pointe Sapin, NB, he was the son of the late Fred and Melinda (Mazerolle) Roy. Claude retired as a mason with Maritime Bricklayers. He was a member of Saint Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church and loved hunting, fishing, four wheeling, boating and camping.
Besides his wife, Claude is survived by his children, Rachel (Jim) Norrad and Joel Higgs; grandchildren Mathew Norrad, Briana Norrad and Tyler Higgs; sisters, Claudette (Maurice) Richard and Deanna (Benoit) Richard; brothers, Esmond and Real; aunt Delima Vautour; uncle, Alex Mazerolle; special aunt and uncle, Edmond and Adele Daigle and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Claude was predeceased by his brother Sylvio.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Reception will follow in the church hall. A private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Fredericton Food Bank or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
