Obituary of Hazel O'Leary

O’Leary, Hazel Beatrice The passing of Hazel Beatrice O’Leary of Fredericton, NB, wife of Charles O’Leary occurred on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was born on March 8, 1936 in Fredericton, NB. Hazel was a teacher for 35 years, having taught in Minto, Oromocto, Beaconfield, QC, New Maryland, Penniac, Douglas and Fredericton. She was a Past President of the Fredericton Lionettes and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award; volunteered with Meals and Wheels, Blind Bowling, Hospital Bingo at the DECRH and Portage; she also was a member of the Friendship Club. In addition to her husband, Hazel is survived by her step daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Clark of Edmonton, AB; five grandchildren, Christina and Eric Stafford, Chole, Nicholas and Ryder Clark; brother, Fred (Etta) Parker of Fredericton, NB; nieces, Jodi Parker and Michelle Paget; mother in law, Catherine O’Leary. Hazel was predeceased by her sisters, Beryl, Buretta “Betty’ Riley and Eunice Sharpe; grandparents, Melburne and Dora Parker. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 5-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
