Obituary of Charles Rose

Rose, Charles Allan It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Charles Allan Rose on October 28, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with his family by his side. Born on July 30th in Bay du Nord, NFLD, he was the son of the late Cecil and Hilda (Welsh) Rose. Charles (Charlie) is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ethel (Mailman), daughters Gina Fournier (James) of Perth-Andover, NB, Lisa Nielsen of Douglas, NB and son Stephen (Melanie) of West Lorne, ON. He had 2 granddaughters: Allison and Katelyn Rose, and 2 grandsons: Aaron and Jared Fournier. In addition to his immediate family, Charles is survived by a sister, Lorraine Frauzel of Chelsea, NS, brothers: Wallace (Mable) of Minto, NB, Clarence (Marie) of Dartmouth, NS, Cecil (Linda) of Lower Sackville, NS, and Gerald of Halifax, NS., numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, 1 uncle and 2 aunts. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters: Ann (in infancy), Amy Henbrey and his brother Calvin. Charles joined the RCMP Marine Division in 1957, had postings in Nova Scotia, Ontario and New Brunswick, where he retired after 32 years of service. Charles remained active with the “J” Division, RCMP Veteran’s Association, the Northside Senior’s Woodworking Shop and the Fredericton Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly-tying, reading, golfing and bowling, but most of all Charlie loved spending time on the Miramichi River. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2 PM with Rev. J.D. Kennedy and Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Internment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Nashwaaksis United Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the J Division RCMP Veteran’s Association Scholarship Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
