Obituary of Mary Irvine

The passing of Mary Isobel Irvine of Lake George, NB, wife of the late Gerald Irvine occurred on Monday, October 15, 2012, at home. Born on March 4, 1914 in Coal Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Hulda (Barton) Weaver. She was affiliated with Lake George United Church and enjoyed bible studies with the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Cell Group. She enjoyed knitting. Mary wished to remain in her own home and was able to do so with the help of special friends Jim Corning and his wife Joanna, her niece Barbara McFarlane, and homemaker, Tammy Boone. This was much appreciated by both Mary and her family. Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Schwartz (Roger) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Danny and Amy Schwartz; sister, Lorraine “Dolly” Banfield of Dartmouth, NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Myrna Melvin; sisters, Evelyn Welton and Avis McNally and her brothers, Roy and Barton. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11 am with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Interment will take place in Lake George United Church Cemetery.
