Obituary of Joan Curran

Joan Ruth (Hacker) Curran, wife of the late Robert “Bob” Curran passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at her home. Born in Milltown, NB on April 05, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Alice (Hickey) Hacker. Joan was a retired Sears employee. She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star; holding the office of Worthy Matron many times. She enjoyed her Tuesday night Crib games and her time spent with the Devon Seniors. Joan is survived by her son, Richard of Nashwaak Village, NB; daughter, Debbie (Glendon) Hill of Fredericton, NB; grandson, Richard (Annie) Brewer of Riverview, NB; granddaughter, Stephanie of Fredericton, NB; step granddaughter, Crista (Joey) Richards of Durham Bridge, NB and step great granddaughter, Gracie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star are asked to assemble at York Funeral Home for a tribute service on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 6:45 pm. Interment will take place in the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Shriners or the charity of the donor’s choice.
