Obituary of James Fitzgerald

The passing of James “Jim” Michael Fitzgerald of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 4, 1945 in Campbellton, NB, he was the son of the late Ralph and Gladys (Currie) Fitzgerald. Jim worked in construction most of his life, and worked in the construction of the Mactaquac Dam. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim was an amazing father, who raised his six children.
Jim is survived by his children, Shawn Fitzgerald (Lynn Guitard) of Fredericton, NB, Laura MacDonald (Robert) of Lake George, NB, Billy Fitzgerald (Angie Pepin) of Harvey Station, NB, Bobbie-Jo McDonald (Kevin) of Fredericton, NB and Matt Fitzgerald (Lindsay) of Smithfield, NB and their mother, Geraldine Aubin; sixteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Paulette Corrier of Fredericton, NB and Debbie Davis (Donald) of Maugerville, NB; several nieces and nephews; best friend and cousin, Cluney Long. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John James Fitzgerald and brother-in-law, Howard Corrier.
There will be no services by Jim’s request. The arrangements are in care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
