Born on April 4, 1928 in Williamsburg, NB, James was a son of the late James Turnbull and Lillian (Woodworth-Turnbull) Heard; step mother, Gladys Shaw-Turnbull; step father, Walter Heard; chosen parents, Vergie and John Hill. He was also a past member of the Micmac Trailer Club and the Fiddlehead Campers. James was considered to be a “Jack of all Trades” who was able to build or fix anything but to his children he was simply the GREATEST MAN they ever knew and a grampy who lived for the time he spent with his grandchildren, Kyle and Alicia. In addition to his wife of 65 years, James is survived by daughter, Trudy (Corey) McLaggan of Fredericton; son, Clifton Turnbull of Fredericton; grandchildren, Kyle and Alicia McLaggan; sisters, Mavis Braun of Moncton, NB, Joyce Parker (Larry) of Fredericton; brothers, Glen (Evelyn), Marvin (Rose), Clarence (Eva), Floyd (Linda) all of Fredericton, Lloyd (Margaret) of Ireland; brother-in-law, Garth Fitzgerald (Mary) of Campobello Island, NB; sister-in-law, Gerry Fitzgerald of Ellsworth, ME; aunt, Violet Turnbull of Tracy, NB; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Snoopy.
