The passing of Andrew Alexander “Gump” Munn, husband of Ruby (Murphy) Munn of Hazelton, NB, occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born on April 28, 1928 in Hazelton, NB, he was a son of the late William P. and Barbara S. (Price) Munn. Before retirement, Gump was a woodsman with Russell & Swim. He enjoyed doing word search puzzles and loved having Ruby read to him. Gump was a member of the Doaktown United Pentecostal Church. In addition to his wife of almost 43 years, Gump is survived by one son, Willie Munn of Hazelton, NB; one daughter, Sheri Holmes (Larry) of Bedford, VA; one brother, Raymond Munn; one sister, June Connors; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by six brothers, Ernest, Hughie, Duncan, as infants, and Sherman, Thomas and William; one sister, Mary. Visitation will be held at the Doaktown United Pentecostal Church, Main Street, Doaktown on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the church on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 2 pm with Pastor Ron Carroll officiating. Interment will be in the Doaktown Pentecostal Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Kidney Foundation or the Doaktown United Pentecostal Church.
