Obituary of Freddie Boone

The passing of Freddie Hayward Boone of Tay Creek, NB, husband of Lily “Bella” (Hood) Boone occurred on Sunday, October 09, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 8, 1921 in Tay Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Austin and Julia (Leslie) Boone. He was a dedicated family man. He was a member and elder of the Sterling United Church. Freddie was a Mill Owner and Operator and also owned a Christmas Tree Farm. Freddie enjoyed camping, and was a self taught musician, playing multiple instruments, especially the mouth organ and fiddle. He will be remembered for his ability to entertain with his fiddle at dances, where he not only played, but loved to dance as well. In addition to his wife, Freddie is survived by his daughters, Jacalyn M. Boone (Allen Doucet) of Fredericton, NB and Joanne M. Dorcas (Allan) of Williamsburg, NB; son, Freddie J. Boone of Tay Creek, NB; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Greta Spilman of Tay Creek, NB and Jean Biggs of Middleton, NS; brothers, Gerald Boone (Millie) of Fredericton, NB and William Boone (Rachel) of Ottawa, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Neil and Dale and his sister, Mary Atkinson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM and Dr. Arthur Maxwell officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Freddie, Chris, Larry and Ralph Boone, Jeremy and Jim Barnet. Interment will take place in Tay Creek United Church Cemetery. Special thank you to Freddie’s homemakers for their loving care, they were like family to him. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Sterling United Church Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
