Obituary of Michele "Mike" D'Andreamatteo

D’Andreamatteo, Michele “Mike” The passing of Michele “Mike” D’Andreamatteo, husband of Lucia (Campitelli) D’Andreamatteo of Fredericton, NB occurred on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on December 8, 1922 in Atri, Italy, mike was a son of the late Joseph and Assunta (Mattucci) D’Andreamatteo. Mike was a coal miner, first in Belgium and later with NB Coal until his retirement. He also enjoyed gardening, wine making, playing cards and loved his family. In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a daughter, Rita DiCarlo (Nick) of Fredericton, NB; a son, Joseph (Yvonne) of Haggerville, ON; nine grandchildren, Michael (Carrie), Lucy (Charlie), Tina, Carla, Nina (Rob), Julianna, Dino (Chantelle), Lucas and Marissa; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antonietta Riti (Massimo) of Fredericton, NB and Assunta Nespoli (Nicola) of Italy; two brothers, Bruno (Louise) and Mario (Rina) both of Ontario; daughter-in-law, Nancy D'Andreamatteo of Thompson, Manitoba; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by a son, Mauro; two sisters, Nadina and Julia; two brothers, Alessandro and Antonio. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Extra Mural Hospital (Fredericton Unit), or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
