Obituary of Caroline Farrell

It is with great sadness that her family announces the death, in her 106th year, of Caroline (Carrie) Mariah Farrell, on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at York Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Jennie Margaret (Garvie) and Charles Sydney Tyler. She was born in Douglas Parish during a snow storm on May 01, 1907. Caroline is survived by her daughters, Doris (Paul) Lapointe of Kitchener, Margaret (Jacques) Benoit of Montreal; son, Donald (Angela) of Toronto; son-in-law, Merlin Doak of Fredericton; daughters-in-law, Gladys Farrell of Brantford and Shirley Farrell of Fredericton. She treasured her seven grandchildren, Jon, Steven, Michel, David, Doreen, Shelly, Carolyn and her ten great grandchildren, Jonathan, Karine, Emilie, Juleanna, Ashley, Jessica, Breanna, Zachary, Lucas and Adria. She is also survived by several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Caroline was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; daughters, Shirley and Elaine; sons, Charles, Clinton and George. She was the last member of the Tyler family. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will take place at Marysville United Church on Wednesday, August 01, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. David Brewer officiating. Interment will take place in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
