The passing of Juanita Sarah DuPlessis of Douglas, NB, wife of the late Lloyd DuPlessis occurred on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 29, 1920 in Havelock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Wavie (Carson) Alward. Juanita graduated from VPH School of Nursing in 1947 and practiced as a Private Duties Nurse, retired as an RN from York Manor. She was an active member of the Keswick United Baptist Church and the Silver Top Seniors. Juanita is survived by her sons, David (Ida) and Douglas all of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Jason (Erica) of Foxborough, Mass, Julie DuPlessis of Douglas, NB and Jeremy DuPlessis of Keswick Ridge, NB; great grandchild, Caitlyn Rose DuPlessis; sister, Margaret (Bill) Pegg of Thamesford, ON and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, George Alfred DuPlessis; sister, Helen Bertrum; brothers, Walter, Melbourne, Wilfred, Wallace, Blair and Leon Alward. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Keswick United Baptist Church on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2 pm with Pastor Bev Jewett officiating. Interment will take place in Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton and Area Down Syndrome Society, Keswick United Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
