Obituary of Katherine Blaxland

The passing of Katherine “Kathy” Ann Blaxland, of Mazerolle Settlement, occurred peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 13, 1958 in Fredericton, she was a daughter of Nina (Copp) Griffiths and the late Irvine Griffiths. Kathy retired after 32 years of service with the Marketing Department of Aliant followed by a work term with Service New Brunswick, prior to her illness. She is survived by her soul mate, Randie Harvey; her beloved son, Matthew Blaxland and his father, Dave Blaxland; siblings, Carol (Melvin) Lawson of Saint John, Nancy (Everett) England of Royal Road, Paul (Rose) Griffiths, Wayne (Rejane) Griffiths and Kelly (Todd) Smith all of Burtts Corner and Patsy (Kirk) Cullins of Millville; several nieces and nephews and Randie’s children, Rachel and Ryan. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Joanne Barr officiating. Interment will take place in Birdton Cemetery.
