Obituary of George Sweeney

The passing of George Orland Martin Sweeney of Durham Bridge, NB, best friend and companion of the late Carol Estey occurred on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 12, 1932 in Durham Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Andrew and Lillian (Banks) Sweeney. He was a retired carpenter, who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. George is survived by his daughter, Millie Mills (Ted) of Fredericton, NB and their son, Tee Jay Alexander Mills; sister, Rita Veinotte of Barrie, ON and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and companion, he was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Keasey and Mary Munn; brothers, Irving, Herman, Dennis, Fred and Robert Sweeney. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Durham Memorial Cemetery.
