Obituary of Ralph Gillies

On June 17, 2011, Ralph Floyd Gillies, husband of the late Gladys (Bates) Gillies, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born July 14, 1928 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Jim and Viola Gillies. Ralph will be forever missed by his sons Randy (Kathy), Gerald (Rose), Michael and Terry; daughters Susan (Wayne), Jo-Anne (Danny), Glenna and Nancy; his sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; very dear friend Eunice Miller, daughter in-law Susan Gillies and brother Carl. Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife Gladys (Bates) in 1986, son Brian, daughter Patsy Dutcher, great grandson Aiden Gallant, daughter in law Shirley Gillies, sons in-law Donnie McCoy and Robert Dickison, brothers Neil, Gerald and Holly. Although there will be no visitation, a private family service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery, Fredericton NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
