Obituary of Donald Burke

The passing of Donald Malcolm Burke of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Yvonne Burke occurred on June 17, 2011 at his home. Born on September 7, 1936 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Albenie and Helen (Shannon) Burke. Donald is survived by his children, Gary and Ron Burke both of Quispamsis, NB, Kim (Dan) Lane of Oregon, Diane (Sydney) McKay of Sussex, NB; stepchildren, Larry (Sherry) Jackson, Christopher (Lori) Jackson, Todd (Cara) Jackson, Steven (Angie) Jackson and Dwayne Jackson; sixteen grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Thelma) Burke of Saint John, NB; sisters, Barbara MacKenzie, Colleen McQuade, Peggy (Jack) Fowler all of Saint John, NB, Debbie (Tim) Burns of Winnepeg, MB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Donald was predeceased by his sons, Kevin and Robert Burke, Terry Gallant; brother, Vincent Burke and sister, Patricia Dixon. Although there will be no visitation, a Memorial service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive., Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2 pm with Steve Montgomery. Interment will take place at the Keswick Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Keswick United Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
