Obituary of Garfield Clark

It is with great sadness that the families of Garfield Clark wish to announce his passing on June 4, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in Scotch Settlement, NB on January 13, 1932 to Blanche (Jones) Clark and the late Dow Clark. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and neighbor. He has had numerous jobs throughout his life including Bemrose and Kilburn, Fred McKay, driving school bus and his most recent job with NB Power for 20 years. He retired in the early 90’s and often commented that he was busier after he retired than when he was working. His passions were hunting, fishing and especially gardening. He is survived by his mother Blanche of Pine Grove Nursing Home; one daughter, Yvonne(Bob) of Nashwaaksis and their children, Amanda (Ed Halley) and Kyle Kerasiotis; two sons, Eric (Andrea) of Hanwell and their children, Jesse, Skyler, and Shane Clark; Bradley (Jocelyn) of Charters Settlement and their children Ryan and Grace Clark; sister Ena (Owen) of Fredericton; brother Larry (Fern) of Scotch Lake; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Norma; father Dow; infant daughter Roberta; brother Fraser; sister Marie and her husband Lloyd Wilson; and neice Gail Morehouse. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 1 pm until time of the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. Pallbearers will be his five grandsons, Ryan, Kyle, Jesse, Skyler, Shane and a very special neighbor Gary Grey. Interment will take place in Scotch Settlement Rural Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Charlene, Eva, Irena, his Extramural nurses and all those who have supported us during these trying times. A special Thank you to York Funeral Home for all of their guidance and support to help us get through losing both of our parents within a week of each other.
