Obituary of Gertrude Case

It is with great sadness, that the family of Gertrude Mildred “Trudy” Case, announce her sudden passing, on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Trudy was born on March 20, 1928 on Bell Island, NF, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Deborah Saunders. Trudy is survived by her three sons, Darryl (Linda) Case and Robert (Sabrina) Case all of Fredericton, NB and Dave (Darlene) Case of Petawaw, ON; grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Ashlee and Calvin Case; sister, Betty Cameron of St. John’s, NF; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow Case; granddaughter, Darlene Case; two brothers, Bob and Cecil Saunders and one sister, Mildred. Trudy was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church and served on many committees, she was also a member of the St. Paul’s UCW and the IODE. She loved her family and friends so much and touched every person she met, with her laughter, joy and kindness. She knit constantly, and took great pleasure in the numerous baby sets she gave with love to the Natal Unit of the Chalmers Hospital. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, May 30, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the St. Paul’s United Church, 224 York Street at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
