Obituary of Marion Gillies

The passing of Marion Frances Gillies of Dumfries, NB, wife of the late Neil Gillies, occurred on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 10, 1928 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Mark Wade and Thelma (Peterson) Wade-MacNaughton. Marion, who had a smile for everyone, loved life, her family and her loving cats. She was an outstanding lover of all God’s living beings. She was a caring mother and grandmother. Marion is survived by her daughters, Donna Ellegood (Richard) of Dumfries, NB and Joan Cogswell (Basil) of Hanwell Road; sons, Paul Gillies of Fredericton, NB and James Gillies (Linda) of Lincoln, NB; step son, Pastor Allan Ingraham of Fredericton, NB; sister, Ives Sullivan of Fredericton, NB; daughter-in-law, Diane Gillies of Fredericton, NB; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Thelma Gillies of Juniper, NB; brothers-in-law, Ralph Gillies of Fredericton, NB and Carl Gillies (Phyllis) of Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Wayne Gillies; granddaughter, Maygan Marion Marie Gillies and brother, Darrell Wade. Although there will be no visitation by Marion’s request, a private family funeral service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 2 pm with Pastor Allan Ingraham officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be James Paterson, Joey Marston, Jimmy and Wayne Gillies.
