Charles Henry Robinson, of Doaktown, NB, passed away on May 13th 2011 at the Dr. Everett Regional Chalmers Hospital. Born in Doaktown on May 30th 1928 he was the son of the late George & Rhoda (Beek) Robinson. Charlie retired from the armed forces where he served from 1954-1978. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Dorcas) Robinson; one daughter, Linda Robinson; two grand daughters, Patricia (Mason) Slade and husband Chris as well as their 2 children Gillian and Cameron of Whitby, Ontario and Jamie Robinson (Ron Green) and son Joey Green of St John; one daughter-in-law, Linda Robinson of St John; sisters, Sadie Lyons of Fredericton, Elva Vickers of Grey Rapids and Gracie Langton of Doaktown; as well as many nieces and nephews. Charlie was a life time member of the Doaktown Legion Branch # 23, Honourary member of the Doaktown Curling Club, St Thomas United Church and served on boards at the church for years. He was a founding member of Central Miramichi Crime Stoppers. Charlie loved to hunt and fish. He also held a special place in his heart for his 2 cats Katie Lynn and Billy. He also had 2 special homemakers, Lynda and Margaret Munn. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, NB on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Hazel Morris officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA, Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.miramichivalleyfh.com
