Obituary of Irene Waite

The passing of Irene Annie Mae Waite formerly of Nashwaaksis, NB, occurred on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 21, 1934 in Grand River, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Luke) Provost. Irene enjoyed country music, especially “Corb Lund”, she liked horses the colour pink, her jokes and all things Irish.
Irene is survived by her former husband, Harry Waite; daughters, Shirley Gorveatte (David) of Fredericton, NB, Diane Waite (fiancé-Randy Wilkins) of Woodstock, NB; sons, Warren Waite, Robert Waite (Lillian), Ronnie Waite (Helen Edgar) all of Fredericton, NB, Paul Waite (Bernita) of Rusagonis, NB and Jerry Waite (Ann) of Fredericton, NB; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Doreen Cocks (Nigel) of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa and Auldeen and brothers, Lee and Gerald.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 3 pm with Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association.
