Obituary of Charles Marshall

Charles Marshall, known to family and friends as “Chuck”, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the age of 62 years. Born on November 3, 1949 in Alliston, ON, he was the son of the late Archie Ferrier and Mary Marshall. Chuck was a member of Marysville United Baptist Church and had close associations with Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Chuck served as a custodian at the University of New Brunswick for 20 years, and was beloved by co-workers and students alike. Chuck is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marg (Ryan) Marshall and son, Ryan Marshall, both of Noonan, NB; brothers, Douglas Ferrier (Carol) and Joe McClarey, both of Ontario, Bill Potter (Trish) of L'Etete, NB; sisters, Florence Burton (Jack), Mary Hunter (Charles), Jean Garner, Jane Rutherford (Stan), all of Ontario; several nephews and nieces. Chuck was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Margaret Jackson and Raymond Ferrier; parents-in-law, Marion and Edwin Ryan. Chuck enjoyed many campfires, kayaking adventures and warm friendships along the Saint John River at his home-away-from-home, Everett’s Campground. His hobbies included needlepoint, classic western films, nature walks, and country music. An avid armchair jock, Chuck was also an enthusiastic traveler, journeying to Florida and many other destinations with his family. He will be remembered by all for his strong faith, quiet manner, servant’s heart and wonderful, resounding laugh. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Marysville Baptist Church, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Sherwood officiating. Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Marysville Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Society New Brunswick, Chalmers Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or another charity of choice.
