Obituary of Douglas Lingley
The passing of Douglas Hawthorne Lingley, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Katharine (Millman) Lingley, occurred on July 25, 2011 at the Veterans Health Unit. Born on February 23, 1919 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Frank and Mae (Anderson) Lingley. Douglas had retired from IMASCO as a Sales Representative. He was a Veteran of the Second World War with the Canadian Army.
Douglas is survived by his daughters, Julie Lingley of Sussex Corner, NB and Patricia Lingley of Charlottetown, PEI; three grandchildren, Jay Taylor, Cynthia Eisner and Brittany Eisner and his nephew, Douglas (Linda) Lingley. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Katharine “Katie” Taylor; sister, Marjorie Grant; brothers, J. Holden and William Lingley and his niece, Karen Lingley-Johnston.
There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held from Nashwaaksis United Church on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating and Rev. Gil MacKenzie assisting. Private Family Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
