Obituary of Mitchell Clarke

It is with the deepest sadness and sorrow the family announce the tragic and unexpected passing of Mitchell (Mitch) Clarke, of Fredericton, on July 23, 2011 at Grand Lake. Born in Fredericton on January 18, 1968, Mitch was the son of Wayne and Barbara (Wilkins) Clarke. In addition to his parents, Mitch is survived by his wife, Amanda (Fox) Clarke; son, Alex; daughter, Sarah; brother, Rod Clarke (Susan); brother-in-law, Michael Fox; mother-in-law, Bonnie Tommy (Mark Trenholm); father-in-law, Kent Fox; aunts and uncles, Patricia and Clark Wilcox, Eleanor and Don Dougherty, Bonnie and Neil Watt, Vaughn and Valerie Wilkins, Vena and Ken Porter and Lena Bustard; nieces, Livia and Laura Clarke; cousins, Steven, Andrew, Janelle, Jill, Scott, Patrick, Kelly, Bradley, Vanessa and Brianne. Mitch was predeceased by grandparents, Fred and Klyne Wilkins. After graduating from UNB, Mitch joined the banking industry as he was passionate about finance. After several years with Wood Gundy he returned to the family business that he loved. Mitch was a well known and respected businessman in Fredericton. Mitch was Vice President of Wilkin’s Building Supplies, a job he loved with a passion. You could always find Mitch behind his desk working on estimates or waiting on customers with his familiar great smile and fantastic personality. Mitch was also a partner in a major real estate development in Fredericton. Mitch loved to see good developments that would benefit his community and quality of life for all. When Mitch wasn’t working or spending time with Amanda and his children you could find him jogging in his neighbourhood. He also had a passion for salmon fishing, and when the opportunity and time permitted he could be found on the water and recently enjoyed a fishing trip to Newfoundland. Mitch also loved spending leisure time at his cottage on Grand Lake with his many friends, loving wife and 2 beautiful children. He enjoyed Saturday evening cards with friends, campfires on the beach and boating on the lake with his family and friends. Mitch’s first priority was his family, being a devoted, loving and loyal husband to Amanda who he loved dearly and his precious children, Alex and Sarah. When it came to his children’s activities, Alex’s (his little Manny) sports, baseball and hockey and Sarah’s (Daddy’s girl) basketball and swimming, Mitch could always juggle his time to cheer on, coach and lend a helping hand.
