Obituary of Violet Meade

The passing of Violet Irene Meade of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Kenneth Meade, occurred on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 28, 1928 in Nashwaaksis, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Bailey) Hawkins Rowan. Violet is survived by her daughter, Mary Hird (Gary) of Fredericton, NB; sons, John Meade (Cecile) of Fredericton, NB, Herbert Meade (Lori) of Halifax, NS and David Meade (Michele) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Jeffrey Meade (Nadine) of Winnipeg, MN, Clifton (Kristen) Meade of The Woodlands, TX, Andrew Meade, Linda Russell and Kelsey Meade all of Fredericton, NB; six great grandchildren, Marie, Julie, Sophie, Emilie, Kenneth and Nigel Meade; brother, Herbert Hawkins (Barb) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Targett. Although there will be no visitation; a memorial service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Ali Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery.
