Obituary of Robert Hildebrand

The passing of Robert Gray Hildebrand, husband of Nellie (McKeen) Hildebrand, of Douglas, occurred on August 10, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 27, 1927 in Douglas, he was a son of the late Norman and Mary (Gray) Hildebrand. Robert was self employed as a farmer, this was his passion. Besides his loving wife of 62 years, he is survived by his sons, Robert (Ann) and Eric (Debbie) all of Douglas; grandchildren, Bradley, Christopher and Gregory Hildebrand and Natalie Green all of Fredericton; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Breanna and Faith Hildebrand; brother-in-law, William Biden of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Norman; sister, Margaret Biden and his brother, Girvan. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Pallbearers are Bradley, Christopher and Gregory Hildebrand, Edmund Biden, David Waugh and Dennis Doucette. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Douglas Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
