Obituary of Mary Mallaley

The passing of Mary “Annette” Mallaley of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 4, 1939 in Lorne, NB, she was the daughter of late Thomas (Tom) and Mary (Furlong) Mallaley. Annette was a custodian at UNB until her retirement. She loved the fall of the year, and enjoyed bird-hunting. She also loved to sing, and her preference was country music. Her children and grand-children were her pride and joy, and she loved nothing better than to have her home filled with family and friends. Annette is survived by her sons, Gerald (Maureen O’Brien), James Arthur (Angie Gallant) and Tommy; daughter, Jeanette Mallaley and Jeannette's father, special friend Eldon Calhoun; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; sister, Marina Mallaley; brothers, Gordon (Adeline), Walter (May), Stanley (Mabel) and Leonard; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece, Peggy Carrier. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant grandson, Jonathan; sisters, Cecil, Opal and Josephine; brothers, Murray, Regis, Elias, Israel and Irvine, and companion Elwood (Hoke) Mackinnon. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB at a later date. A memorial service will also take place in Lorne, NB in the spring. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
