Saulnier, Fred Edmond
The passing of Fred Edmond Saulnier of Penniac, NB, husband of Marlene Saulnier, occurred on Saturday, May 19, 2012 a t the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 26, 1943 in St. Alphonse, NS, he was the son of the late Dennis and Helen (Robinson) Saulnier. He worked as a cook and chef manager at UNB for 25-30 years. He was the owner and operator of the Marysville Cotton Café. He was Catholic by faith. Fred enjoyed training dogs, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his great grandsons Kaige and Kai.
In additions to his wife, Fred is survived by his sons, Frederick Joseph (Misty Thompson) of Fredericton, NB and Steven (Denise Lavoie) of Timmons, ON; grandchildren, Jessie, Ashley, Alicia and Jason; great grandchildren, Kaige, Kai, Aaron, Ivy and Tirrana; sisters, Ann Stuart (Paul) and Donna Pickrem (Donnie) all of Halifax, NS; brother, Alfred Saulnier of Digby, NS; nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Paul Saulnier.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive., Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Michael McGowan as celebrant. Interment will take place in Digby, NS on Thursday, May 24, 2012. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the New Brunswick Kidney Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
