Obituary of Diana Estey

The passing of Diana “Dina” May Estey of Zealand, NB, wife of Merle Estey occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Born on July 16, 1933 in Zealand, NB, she was the daughter of Marshall and Violet Brewer. Dina retired from York Manor Nursing Home, after nearly 30 years, as part of the housekeeping staff. Her greatest love was her family and she very much enjoyed camping, flower gardening, crafts, knitting, quilting, shopping and attending yard sales. In addition to her husband, Merle of 58 years, Dina is survived by her children, David (Diann) Estey of Lower Queensbury, NB, Dolores (Richard) Brewer, Wanda (Monty) Brewer and Marilyn (Kenny) Dillon all of Zealand, NB, Joeanne Jones of Richibucto Road, NB and Daphine (Matt) Estey-Burtt of Burtts Corner, NB; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Faye (Wayne) Brewer; brothers, Arwood (Sandra) Brewer, Merville (Jayne) Brewer and Glenwood (Judy) Brewer; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Roberta Hanson and Marie Stairs; infant sisters, Dehlia and Delores and infant brother, Ernest; son-in-law, Danny Jones. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Harold Jenkins and Pastor Donald McCarty officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons, Trent Brewer, Brent Dillon, Blake Estey, Jody Jones, Brett Brewer and Tanner Burtt. Interment will take place in Zealand Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the John T. MacMillan Jr. Foundation for Leukemia. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
