Obituary of Harry Patterson

The passing of Harry Roy Patterson, husband of Polly (Cameron) Patterson of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 6, 1939 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Edna (Wood) Patterson. Harry was a family man, spending time with his girls, aka, “Harry’s Anglels” as well as his grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing darts, fishing and hunting. Although claiming to have retired from his own business, Harry kept busy by volunteering his time to such projects as Habitat for Humanity and tinkering with the many projects he had on the go. Besides his wife, Harry is survived by his daughters, Karen (Gilbert) of Victoria, BC, Melanie (Jeff) of Fredericton, NB and Jill (Phil) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Tucker, Cassidy, Amanda, Austin, Tessa and Bryce; sisters, Gertrude Stairs of Calgary, AB, Cheryl Vezina of Burtts Corner, NB and Paulette (Roger) Vipond of Strathmore, AB; brother-in-law, John Strong of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Kevin Godin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gwen Strong and brother, Wayne Patterson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Debbie Edmondson officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
