Obituary of Vivian Charters
The passing of Vivian Edith (Johnston) Charters of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late W. Gerald Charters occurred on November 9, 2011 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 19, 1921 in Port Coquitlam, BC, she was a daughter of the late Murray and Pearl (King) Johnston. Vivian was a member of Christ Church Parish Church and the ACW. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and volunteering. Vivian loved her family and her church.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Plume (Wayne) of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Jill Woodley (Dan), Sherri Plume, Holly Plume (Rob McGinnis), Jeff Plume (Erion Cook) and Michelle McKay (Tim) all of Fredericton, NB, Tracey Monteith (Oland) of Nackawic, NB and Peter Allen of Fredericton, NB; seven great grandchildren, Robin and Dawson Gorham, Steven and Byron Plume, Colton and Denver Monteith and Liam McKay; two sisters, Janice Whishart (Huntley) of Fredericton, NB and Glenna Murdock of Moncton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Hall and brothers, Francis and Alva Johnston.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Christ Church Parish Church on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Anthony Kwaw officiating. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
