Obituary of Laura Davidson

The death of Laura Maude (Stickles) Davidson of Woodlands, NB occurred at the Nashwaak Villa on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Born on August 15, 1920 in Woodlands, NB, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Margaret (Wilkins) Stickles. She was married to the late Howard A. Davidson for 60 years. Laura was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her favorite pastimes were quilting, knitting, keeping scrapbooks and doing puzzles. Laura is survived by her four sons, Irvine (Carolyn) of Fredericton, Delbert (Linda) of Woodlands, Brian (Bonnie) of Cardigan and Ivan (Luanne) of Woodlands; four daughters, Shirley Porter (Frank) of New Maryland, Elva Haines (Ronald) of Royal Road, Faye Humble (Paul) of Maple Grove and Sharon Pringle (Lovell) of Stanley; twenty one grandchildren, Jeffrey Davidson (Carole), Jennifer Davidson (Darren Webber), Janice Helpard (Wayne), Kevin Porter (Joy), Daniel Porter (Melissa), Robert Porter (Susan), Michael Porter (Abby Stairs), Laurie Haines (Delaney Nickerson), Christopher Haines (Michelle), Sheila Davidson (Brandon Flagg), Andrew Davidson, Robert Davidson, Kelly Davidson-MacBeth (Michael), Stephanie Davidson (Shawn Hamilton), Tanya Davidson, Jason Humble, Angela Harnish (Michael), Dawna Humble (Ted Murray), Dale Humble (Chantale), Nathan Pringle (Kathryn McCaul), Laura Pringle (Craig Merrill); twenty great grandchildren, Emily and Adam Davidson, Jack and Carson Webber, Tyler and Ethan Porter, Noah and Jonah Porter, Jake Haines, Kayla and Sean Card, Fionn and Maddie Flagg, Holly, Gina and Lacie Harnish, Wyatt and Emma Murray, Kendra McPherson and Alison Humble; two step great grandchildren, Taylor and Alexa Merrill; one brother, James Stickles; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Howard, she was predeceased by her son, Darrell; brothers, Garfield and Earl Stickles; sisters, Myrtle and Viola Stickles, Inez Crockett, Gussie Curtis, Violet Holland and Evelyn Sherwood. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Jeffrey Davidson, Daniel Porter, Laurie Haines, Andrew Davidson, Tanya Davidson, Kelly Davidson-MacBeth, Jason Humble and Nathan Pringle. Interment will take place in Woodlands Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Woodlands Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would also like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Nashwaak Villa and also staff of Upper Nashwaak Community Outreach for their care and compassion; to Dr. Keddy and Dr. Malik and caregivers, Diane Munn and Goldie Davidson.
