Obituary of Lloyd Harrison

The passing of Lloyd George Harrison of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Margaret (Duncan) Harrison, occurred on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB. Born on August 18, 1923 in Smith Falls, ON, he was a son of the late George and Annie (Letson) Harrison. Lloyd was a Veteran of WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force serving in France, Germany, Holland and England. He owned and operated Harrison’s Jewelry on Regent Street for many years. He is a member and a Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially being at his camp “Curley Birches” on the Nashwaak. Lloyd is survived by his sister, Bette Spencer-Sussey (Earl) of Fredericton, NB; although he did not have any children, Lloyd is survived by ten nieces and nephews, Louise (Brian) Wilkins, George (Carol) Spencer, Randy (Georgette) Spencer, Jerry (Wendy) Spencer, Beverley (John) Peters, Beverly Zawitkoski, Larry Zawitkoski, Elaine Williams, Althea Croxford and Diana Harrison. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Irene “Daisy” Sedgley and Charlotte Zawitkoski and his brothers, Gerald, Fred and Kenny. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 12 to 2 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton, NB at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson; Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the Funeral Home for a Legion Tribute Service on Friday at 2 pm. Interment will follow the services at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
